Los Talleres de Lawrence
El
8 de enero de 2012, se llevó a cabo una recepción abierta al público en
el Lawrence Heritage State Park sobre “Los Talleres de Lawrence”, una
exhibición de arte de los pasteles de Michael Ramseur. La exposición
estará abierta todos los días, de 9 de la mañana a 4 de la tarde, desde
el 2 de enero hasta el 30 del mismo mes. La entrada es libre y gratuita.

The Mills of Lawrence
On
January 8, 2012, an open reception was held at Lawrence Heritage State
Park for “The Mills of Lawrence”, an art exhibit of Michael Ramseur’s
pastels. The exhibit will be open daily, 9-4, from January 2 through
the 30th. Free admission.

Leading the way into the future
The
frigid temperatures did not discourage a crowd of local officials,
business people, Northern Essex Community College trustees and
foundation members, and residents of the Merrimack Valley, who gathered
at the corner of Common and Hampshire Streets in Lawrence Tuesday
morning to witness the first strikes taken in the process of
demolishing the In-Town Mall on Common Street.

Navidades en el Ayuntamiento de Lawrence

Cuando Frank Bonet, Director de Personal de la Ciudad de Lawrence pidió
un voluntario para ayudarlo a iluminar el árbol de Navidad, Jonathan
Ocasio, 4, de Methuen no dudó un momento y tomando un paso
adelante y levantando la mano, dijo "¡Yo!, ¡Yo! "
Minutos después, pulsando un interruptor, el árbol plantado junto al
Ayuntamiento y decorado por nuestros trabajadores de DP W quedó
iluminado por arte de magia para satisfacción y deleite de los muchos
niños y adultos que se encontraban en asistencia. Santa trajo muchos
regalos para los niños.

Christmas at Lawrence City Hall

When Frank Bonet, City of Lawrence Personnel Director asked for a
volunteer to help him light the Christmas Tree, Jonathan Ocasio, 4, of
Methuen did not hesitate and took and step forward, raising his hand
“Me!, Me!, he said.” Minutes later, by pressing a switch, the tree
planted
by City Hall and decorated by our D.P.W. workers lit up like magic to
the satisfaction of children and adults in attendance. Santa brought
lots of presents for the children.
