VNNHH congratulates all Latino candidates that participated in the electoral process and in particular those that advanced and were elected for the first time, such as Lily Mesa, Juan Muñóz and Marilinda García. The results must be encouraging for Pete Escalera and Roberto Fuentes, since they missed being elected by a mere 83 and 84 votes, respectively, as they finished one spot short of the target. We are also sorry to see the first Latino elected to the House, Carlos González lose to Lily Mesa. We are pleased by the increased Latino participation in the elections, both as candidates and as voters.
