Joseph J. Bevilacqua, President, Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce, Patrick Costa, General Manager/CEO, Costa Communication; Alberto M. Suris, Rumbo Sales and Distribution Manager and Wilfred N. Carpenter, MVCC, Vice President, Sales and Services want to say thanks to the businesses sponsoring the event and the community for their massive support to the First Annual Latino Expo & Job Fair.

Hispanics from all over the Merrimack Valley as well as the Greater Boston area were attracted by the combined efforts of Power 800, the Chamber and Rumbo, starting forming a line three hours before the starting time. By 3:00 PM, the line was at the end of the handicapped ramp, outside the building.

Pat Costa estimated the attendance at more than 1,200. Costa explained that the station was giving away door prizes and they collected more than 1,000 of those filled out forms, “and I know that not everyone filled the them out,” said Costa.

Joseph Bevilacqua, president of the Chamber of Commerce was also very excited about the results of the event and is already gearing up for next year’s. Considering that this was planned just a month ago, he felt that it was successful. “Next year, it will be better. All these businesses are coming back and many more that are planning to come”, said Bevilacqua.
