Mayor William M. Manzi’s office issued a notice on March 15 to
Police Chief Joseph Solomon pursuant to the Massachusetts Civil
Service Statute. Chief Solomon was notified that a hearing will be
held at the Mayor’s office to determine whether or not there is
just cause to take disciplinary action against him for
mismanagement and/or misapplication of federal grant funds.
As Chief of Police, Chief Solomon is ultimately responsible for
the proper administration and application of all public safety
grants. The hearing will be conducted within the next few weeks.
