A former investigator and mediator, Regina Faticanti of Lowell,
has joined the Northern Essex Community College Criminal Justice
Department as a full-time professor, bringing with her a unique
perspective of the law from the civilian side.
Faticanti has taught as an adjunct professor in both the
behavioral sciences and criminal justice departments at NECC since
2003 and at Western New England College since 2000.
“Regina brings to the program experience that nicely complements
that of the two present faculty members. Her work on the civilian
side of criminal justice both as an investigator and a mediator
will add another dimension to the program,” said Paul Bevilacqua,
vice president & dean of academic affairs.
In addition to teaching, Faticanti hosts a radio show at WCAP in
Lowell and serves on the Lowell School Committee. She also writes
a column that appears in the monthly publication, The Valley
Patriot.
Northern Essex offers an associate in science degree in criminal
justice. The program prepares students for professional careers in
the criminal justice field, including law enforcement, probation,
security and corrections, or transfer to a four-year college or
university. The program can be completed full-time in two years or
part-time.
Offered on the college’s Lawrence Campus, the program is one of
the fastest growing at the college. In 1996, there were 110
students. There are currently well over 300 students.
