One of New England’s top political analysts and most popular broadcast and print journalists, Jon Keller, will share his professional journey during a free presentation, “Covering Politics: One Reporter’s Wild Ride” at Northern Essex Community College in Lawrence on Friday, Feb. 3. Part of the White Fund Enlightenment Series presented by Northern Essex, the program is free and open to the public and will begin at noon in the White Fund Room on the NECC Lawrence Extension Campus, 78 Amesbury Street.

Keller, who was raised and educated in Boston, is a veteran reporter and has been the consummate unbiased observer of Boston’s political and social landscape for more than two decades. Keller’s reports are featured regularly during CBS4 News at 6 and 11 p.m. In addition, Keller presents a drive commentary on WBZ News Radio 1030, contributes weekly to the Boston Herald, and monthly to Boston Magazine. Before joining CBS4, Keller served as political analyst for “The Ten O’Clock News” on WLVI-TV (WB56). Before that, he held positions with the TAB Newspapers as well as a number of radio stations across the region, including WCCM in Methuen.

Keller will share stories from his years of covering the political beat. He will also comment on the changing relationship between the press and the political establishment and where the political culture is headed.

For more than 140 years the White Fund Enlightenment Series has offered Greater Lawrence audiences the opportunity to “enlighten their minds” through a series of free lectures.

Funded by a generous financial gift from the Honorable Daniel Appleton White, the White Fund Lecture Series has provided cultural conversation featuring well-known lecturers in fields such as history, literature, travel, the arts, and politics. The White Fund is collaborating with Northern Essex on this series.

Because of the nature of Keller’s work and the possibility that he will have to cover a breaking news story, it is recommended that those planning to attend the program call the college, 978 556-3700, the morning of the program to confirm that it will be held as scheduled.

To receive a calendar of upcoming events in the White Fund Enlightenment Series, contact the same number, 978-556-3700.
