On Saturday, March 25, 2006, more than 200 volunteers, responding
the call made by Lawrence/Methuen Community Coalition spread out
through seven Lawrence neighborhoods in a massive cleanup
operation.
The sites involved in the cleanup operation were
Alma/Bromfield/Myrtle, Saunders/Park, Garden/Orchard/Newbury,
Whitman/Arlington, Tremont/Cross/West, Elizabeth/Lowell/Oxford and
Walnut/Alder/Hampshire.
According to Harold Magoon, L/MCC director, this is the largest
group ever gathered for a cleanup effort since the creation of
L/MCC 10 years ago. “Our next crusade will take effect on April
22nd in the lower Tower Hill area”, said Magoon.
